About rice.ag
rice.ag is an open project by Wildfield Regenerative Products — Wild Field Foods Co., Ltd. — a rice grower and processor based in Fang, Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand. We work with partner farmers to grow, dry and mill rice, including 100% single-variety, unmixed Chainat 1 for noodle manufacturers.
Why we built it
Most of the rice trade still runs on a quick look at a tray of grains and a trader's word. Laboratory analysis is accurate but slow, and professional grain analysers are expensive. We wanted something in between for our own mill — fast, consistent, and honest about its limits — and saw no reason to keep it to ourselves.
Our principles
- Free. The tools are free to use, for anyone.
- Private. Photos are analysed on your device. We don't upload, store or see them.
- Transparent. We publish how the scanner works, how we test it, and what it can't do.
- Practical. Everything here is written for people who handle rice, not for search engines.

- Validation against hand-sorted and laboratory-graded real samples.
- Variety presets with reference lengths for common Thai varieties.
- Fissure (crack) detection and batch scanning for mills.
